1 Identity of the Data Fiduciary / Business
ETAssist (ETAssist) is the operator of the Service. Legal Name ETAssist, Trade Name ETAssist (ETAssist), principal address Kunnamkulam, Kerala, India, email easyteachassist@gmail.com.
2 Scope and Data Protection Framework
This Privacy Policy explains the categories of personal information processed by ETAssist, the purposes of processing, the role of third-party providers, retention, security, user requests and complaint handling. The policy is drafted to reflect applicable Indian requirements, including the DPDP Act, 2023 and the final DPDP Rules, 2025, to the extent and from the dates those provisions apply. Because the DPDP framework is subject to phased commencement, the policy does not represent that provisions not yet commenced are already legally operative.
3 Information Collected
3.1 Account and Authentication Information
When you create or access an Account through ETAssist, we may collect and process:
a. Name / Full Name Your name or full name, including the name associated with your Google Account when you use Google Sign-In. This information is used to identify you, create and maintain your Account, provide personalised account functionality, and communicate with you regarding the Service.
b. Email Address Your email address, including the email address associated with your Google Account, may be collected for Account identification and authentication, service-related communications, customer support, security notifications, transaction-related communications and other purposes necessary to operate the Service.
c. Google Authentication Identifier Where Google Sign-In is used, ETAssist may receive and process an authentication identifier or other account identifier provided through the authentication service. This is used to authenticate you, associate your Google authentication with your ETAssist Account, prevent unauthorised access and maintain Account security.
d. Google Profile Information Where provided by the authentication provider, ETAssist may receive limited profile information such as a profile picture. ETAssist does not intend to retain or use the Google profile picture as a separate Account data field unless required for a specific functionality.
3.2 Required Profile Information
To use certain features of the Service, we may require:
a. Phone Number Your phone number is collected as a mandatory Account field and may be used for Account maintenance, communication, verification, identification, customer support, security and service-related purposes.
b. School / Institution Name Your school or institution name may be collected to establish your educational profile, associate your Account with an educational institution where applicable, and provide or improve education-related functionality.
3.3 Educational Service Information
When you use the educational features of ETAssist, we may process information relating to the service you request, including selections such as:
Class or grade;
Subject;
Chapter or topic;
Page range;
Type of educational resource or service requested; and
Other options or selections made within the Service.
You are not required to upload your textbooks for the ordinary teaching-manual generation process. These selections are used to identify the educational material or information relevant to your request, retrieve relevant information from ETAssist’s educational/content database, generate the requested Educational Content and maintain appropriate service records.
3.4 Service Requests and Generated Content
When you request a service, we may process:
Information contained in your service request;
The educational selections made by you;
Processing information required to fulfil your request; and
The Educational Content or teaching-manual result generated in response to your request.
Generated results are not intended to be permanently stored. They may be retained temporarily or for such period as is reasonably necessary to provide the requested Service, maintain service functionality, address technical issues, investigate complaints or disputes, comply with legal obligations, or protect our legitimate interests. Older generated content may be deleted when it is no longer reasonably necessary or where storage limitations require deletion.
3.5 Credits / Tokens and Transaction Information
Where you purchase or use Credits/Tokens, we may maintain records relating to:
Your available Token balance;
Tokens purchased;
Tokens credited to your Account;
Tokens consumed or deducted;
Token adjustments or restorations;
Refunds or transaction reversals;
Order and transaction references;
Payment status; and
Other information reasonably necessary to administer and reconcile Token transactions.
3.6 Reports, Complaints and Support Information
If you report an issue, generated result, error or other concern, we may collect and retain information necessary to investigate and resolve the matter, including:
The description of the complaint or reported issue;
A copy, record or snapshot of the relevant generated result where reasonably necessary;
Complaint or report status;
Resolution information;
Communications with you concerning the issue; and
Information necessary to investigate disputes, misuse, fraud or security incidents.
3.7 Account, Service and Operational Records
We may maintain records relating to your use of the Service, including:
Account creation and update records;
Service requests;
Token and credit records;
Transaction and payment records;
Refund or adjustment records;
Reports and complaints;
Customer-support communications;
Technical or security records where generated by our systems or service providers; and
Records reasonably necessary to operate, secure, administer and defend the Service.
3.8 Information You Should Not Submit
The Service is designed for educational use and does not ordinarily require you to provide sensitive personal information concerning yourself, students, children or other individuals.
You should not submit unnecessary personal information, sensitive personal information, confidential information or identifying information relating to students or children into service requests, prompts, reports or other fields unless such information is strictly necessary and you are legally authorised to provide it.
Where such information is submitted, it may be processed for the purpose for which it was provided and handled in accordance with applicable law.
4 Information Not Intentionally Collected
Based on the current intended operation, ETAssist does not intentionally request or maintain IP address, browser information, device information, operating-system information, precise location or GPS data as ordinary Account data, and the current teaching-manual process does not require users to upload their textbooks. However, hosting, security, payment and infrastructure providers may automatically generate technical logs. Technical logs may be generated by hosting, security, payment or infrastructure providers as part of normal operation, security and fraud prevention. The categories of such information may vary depending on the services and technologies used by ETAssist.
5 Purposes of Processing
Personal information may be processed to create and secure Accounts; authenticate users; provide requested educational services; generate Educational Content; administer and display Tokens; process payments and refunds; provide support; investigate fraud, abuse and security events; receive and resolve complaints; maintain business and transaction records; comply with applicable law; enforce contractual rights; and protect ETAssist, users and third parties.
6 Legal Basis / Consent
ETAssist will process personal data on the legal basis available under applicable law. Where consent is required, ETAssist will provide a clear notice and obtain consent through an appropriate affirmative mechanism. Where consent is relied upon, withdrawal will be enabled through a mechanism appropriate to the nature of the processing, subject to lawful consequences of withdrawal. Service-essential processing may continue where another lawful basis exists.
7 AI and Automated Processing
ETAssist may use AI, machine-learning and automated systems to provide Educational Content. Relevant request data may be transmitted to a third-party AI provider where necessary for the requested functionality. Where third-party AI providers are used, the information shared with them will be limited to what is reasonably necessary for the requested functionality and handled subject to applicable contractual, technical and legal safeguards. Provider arrangements may be updated from time to time as the Service changes.
Users should not submit sensitive or unnecessary personal information about students, children or other persons into prompts or other fields. This instruction does not constitute a waiver of ETAssist’s obligations under applicable law.
8 Payments
Payments may be processed by Razorpay and/or Cashfree. ETAssist does not ordinarily store complete card or payment-instrument details on its own servers, but may receive transaction references, payment status, Order ID, Payment ID, amount, date, purchased package and other information needed for reconciliation, refunds, fraud prevention and accounting. Payment providers process payment data according to their own terms and privacy practices.
9 Third-Party Providers and Disclosure
ETAssist may disclose or make available personal information to providers supporting authentication, payment processing, hosting, infrastructure, AI functionality, storage, communications, security, fraud prevention and technical support, limited to the information reasonably necessary for the relevant function and subject to applicable contractual, technical or legal safeguards. Personal data may be processed outside India where a provider’s infrastructure is located outside India, subject to applicable law and any restrictions in force when the transfer occurs.
10 No Sale of Personal Information
ETAssist does not sell personal information as a commercial data product. This statement does not prevent necessary disclosures to service providers, payment processors, professional advisers, law-enforcement authorities, regulators, or other recipients where legally permitted or required.
11 Educational Database
ETAssist maintains an educational/content database containing information such as classes, subjects, chapters, page ranges and other educational information used to provide the Service. User selections are used to retrieve relevant information and generate requested outputs. The database is not intended to be a general collection of users’ personal information.
12 Retention
ETAssist will retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it is processed, to operate the Service, maintain accounts and transactions, prevent fraud, investigate disputes, meet accounting or legal obligations, enforce or defend legal claims, and otherwise comply with applicable law. Account information may be retained while an Account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards where necessary. Transaction and financial records may be retained for the period required by tax, accounting, payment, legal or dispute-resolution requirements. Generated results are not intended to be stored permanently and may be deleted when no longer reasonably necessary.
13 Security
ETAssist will maintain reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature and risk of the information processed. No online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Access to personal information will be limited to personnel and service providers with a legitimate need, subject to applicable law and contractual safeguards.
14 Personal Data Breaches
If ETAssist becomes aware of a personal-data breach affecting information under its control, it will take reasonable steps to investigate, contain and mitigate the incident and to make notifications or disclosures required by applicable law.
15 Account Deletion and Data Requests
Users may request Account closure, correction or deletion by contacting easyteachassist@gmail.com. ETAssist may require reasonable information to verify identity and prevent unauthorised requests. Information may be retained after Account closure where retention is required or reasonably necessary for pending transactions, legal obligations, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, or establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. Account deletion does not itself create a Token-refund entitlement.
16 User Rights
Subject to applicable law and commencement dates, Users may have rights to access information, correction, completion/updating, erasure, withdrawal of consent where applicable, grievance redressal and other rights prescribed by law. Procedures and response periods may be updated when the applicable legal framework becomes operational.
17 Children and Student Information
ETAssist does not offer Accounts to persons under 18. The Service is intended for teachers, educators and institutions, not children. Where a User or institution lawfully provides limited student-related information for a service purpose, the User/institution is responsible for ensuring it has the necessary authority and has complied with applicable law and institutional rules. ETAssist may refuse or delete unnecessary student or child data submitted contrary to the Service requirements, subject to legal and operational constraints.
18 Cookies and Technical Technologies
Where cookies, session technologies, analytics, security tools or similar technologies are used, ETAssist will provide disclosures and obtain consent where required by applicable law. The final website Privacy/Cookie notice must accurately reflect the actual tools deployed; this document should not be read as a promise that the website uses no cookies or logs unless technically verified.
19 International Processing
Some Third-Party Providers may process information outside India. ETAssist will take the steps required by applicable Indian law regarding transfers, contractual safeguards and other conditions applicable at the time of processing.
20 Changes to this Policy
ETAssist may update this Policy when the Service, data categories, providers, technology or legal requirements change. Material changes will be published with an updated effective date and, where law requires, communicated through an appropriate notice or fresh consent mechanism.
